Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The privileges of President of the United States (USA) Donald Trump on Twitter will be revoked when Joe Biden takes over the USA on January 20, 2020.
Previously, Twitter established special rules for world leaders and other officials, this form of microblogging would allow to violate content (incite violence and false electoral information) by tagging or restricting access.
So after resigning from your position, this special treatment no longer applies. “Currently, this policy framework applies to world leaders and candidates for public office, but not to citizens when they no longer hold these positions,” said a Twitter spokesperson.
In the 2020 U.S. presidential election, Twitter tagged President Trump’s tweet @realDonaldTrump a lot. The screech was mostly about voter fraud but no evidence.
Twitter first concealed Trump’s tweet in May when he wrote what was seen as glorifying violence when commenting on demonstrations in the US over the shooting of a black man by security forces.
Twitter explained that the same treatment would be given if a world leader promoted terrorism, made direct violent threats against someone, published someone’s personal information.
