Losing QC Pilgub West Sumatra, Mulyadi is now threatened with arrest by the police

The unfortunate fate now facing the West Sumatra gubernatorial candidate, Mulyadi after passing the vote Concurrent regional elections 2020 December 9.

Mulyadi is currently in a losing position in the quick count version conducted by a polling agency in the 2020 West Sumatra Pilkada. According to Sirekap KPU data as of Friday (12/11), it is also ranked third out of four West Sumatra cagubs at the Pilkada 2020.

He did not stop there, Mulyadi was now threatened with arrest by the Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police (Bareskrim), who threatened to arrest him by force. This was done because Mulyadi was not present at the second examination session scheduled for Thursday (10/12) yesterday. Previously, he was absent in the first examination session, on Monday (12/7).

“We then issue an arrest warrant,” said Director of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Andi Rian, on Thursday (10/12).

For information, the police have named Mulyadi a suspect in an alleged electoral crime case because he allegedly campaigned outside of scheduled hours.

Andi said that Bareskrim Polri would carry out a forced collection attempt after his party had completed the case files and transferred it to Phase 1 of the Prosecutor’s Office.

This case began when West Sumatra Bawaslu received a report from the Legal Team for West Sumatra Governor and Lieutenant Governor Mahyeldi-Audy for West Sumatra Bawaslu on November 12, 2020. Mulyadi was suspected of having deliberately campaigned at the event TvOne when the campaign period on television had not yet started.

West Sumatra Bawaslu Abuse Eradication Division coordinator Elly Yanti said her party delegated the case to the Indonesian Bawaslu and eventually handed it over to Bareskrim because of allegations of criminal elements.

Mulyadi was charged after article 187 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2020 with this case. The minimum sentence is 15 days in prison and 3 months in duration and a maximum fine of 1 million rupees.

On the determination as a suspect, on December 5, the president general of the Mulyadi-Ali Mukhni victory, Alirman Sori, emphasized that the cagub was present on television to be a resource for one of the programs as an invitation.

Still, his party respects the legal process for determining Mulyadi as a suspect. You expect law enforcement officials to carry out their duties in a professional and proportionate manner when enforcing the law in this case.
