Hundreds of workers returned to protest against all the law Cipta Kerja, in central Jakarta. They initially gathered around Jalan Menteng Raya and made a long march towards the Patung Kuda area.
The long march of the workers caused traffic around the horse statue to jam.
Surveillance CNNIndonesia.com On Wednesday (10/14) two command cars accompanied the long march. Several workers carried banners up to the red and white flag.
Security forces were also seen protecting the mass of workers from their initial location in Jalan Menteng Raya. As they passed the Tugu Tani intersection, the police controlled traffic so that the masses could pass Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur. After that, the officers led the crowd towards Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan.
Traffic from Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur to Medan Merdeka Selatan came to a halt as the crowd made a long march towards the Horse Statue.
Around the horse statue, dozens of policemen have also stood guard. The device has not yet made any current diversion.
“We are directing them here (Monas Northwest Gate),” said Chief of Operations of the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police AKBP Wisata as he gathered around the Horse Statue on Wednesday.
Since the DPR and the Government passed the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja on October 5, 2020, various elements of society have continued to hold demonstrations in various regions.
Police said the peak of the demonstration took place on October 8, 2020. Thousands of people were arrested during the demonstration from various jurisdictions of the Polda Metro Jaya.
