The Liverpool vs Everton Merseyside derby is tight and exciting. The end result, Everton won 2-0!

The Liverpool vs Everton duel in the Premier League continued at Anfield, on Sunday (2/21/2021) at the WIB in the morning. The first half closed with Everton’s 1-0 lead.

Everton made a quick goal in the third minute. James Rodríguez calmly sent a long pass to Richarlison, who ran between Liverpool’s center-backs, and the latter was able to coldly hit the ball into Alisson’s goal.

In the second half, Liverpool continued to surround Everton. Visitors only trust counterattacks.

Everton was also able to add a goal in the 83rd minute, via a penalty from Gylfi Sigurdsson. Everton closed the game with a 2-0 victory.

These results make Everton firmly adhere to Liverpool in the Premier League standings. Liverpool remain in sixth place with 40 points from 23 games. Everton have only lost on goal difference, but they still have one game to play.

The course of the match

The first half began, the two teams immediately played open. In fact, 10 seconds into the game, Everton have already received a corner.

In the third minute, James Rodríguez calmly sent a long pass to Richarlison, who ran between Liverpool’s center-backs.

Richarlison escaped from offside, was missed by Ozan Kabak and calmly edged Alisson with a horizontal kick.

After the goal, Everton played to keep up the rhythm and close the defense from midfield. Liverpool also kept trying to destroy the visiting defense.

In the 16th minute, Everton even threatened again. James Rodriguez’s free kick found the net, but Alisson kept it easy.

The 19th minute Liverpool had a chance. Roberto Firmino caught a wild ball off Sadio Mane’s feet, but his shot was blocked by the Everton defense.

A minute later, Jordan Henderson opened a shot from outside the penalty area. However, Pickford flew off the ball.

In the 21st minute it was Trent Alexander-Arnold’s turn to shoot from outside the penalty area. Pickford shook it again.

Disastrous for Liverpool. In the 29th minute, captain Jordan Henderson looked sore. He is believed to have suffered a hamstring injury and had to be recalled to be replaced by Nathaniel Phillips.

In the 33rd minute, Coleman nearly scored a goal. He welcomed Digne’s pass from the side, then Coleman greeted him with a floating header. Alisson was in the perfect time and position, with a quick reflex to remove the circular leather.

Liverpool responded a minute later, sadly Curtis Jones fired wide.

In the 37th minute it was Phillips’ turn to experiment. His header from a narrow angle to salute a free-throw bait, still without reaching the field.

Until the first half whistle ended, the score was 1-0 for Everton.
