LIVERPOOL – Liverpool center-back Virgil van Dijk praised Fabinho’s play when the Reds, Liverpool’s nickname, beat Chelsea Fabinho 2-0. For Van Dijk, Fabinho was the Man of the Match (MOTM) in the match.
Liverpool beat Chelsea in the second week of the 2020-2021 Premier League. The match became the stage for several Liverpool players, including Fabinho. Because, the Brazilian player performed well even though he did not play in his original position, that is, the defensive midfielder.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp played Fabinho as center-back in a match that took place in Chelsea’s cage, Stamford Bridge, on Sunday 20 September 2020, WIB. Klopp was forced to play Fabinho as Van Dijk’s teammate because Joe Gomez and Joel Matip were injured.
The unavailability of Gómez and Matip made Klopp take advantage of the flexibility of Fabinho, who can also play as a central and right back. Fabinho also played very well in the match. The former AS Monaco player recorded four tackles, four interceptions and 12 recoveries from the ball he just lost.
