WOLVERHAMPTON – Liverpool finally officially announced the arrival of Diogo Jota this summer, Saturday 19 September 2020, WIB. This is Liverpool’s second signing after adding Thiago Alcantara a few days ago.
Liverpool bought the Portuguese passport player from Wolverhampton Wanderers for 45 million pounds, or roughly 755 billion IDR. Through Liverpool’s official website, the 22-year-old signed a long-term contract with the Reds, Liverpool’s nickname.
“Liverpool FC have completed the recruitment of Portuguese international Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a long-term contract,” a Liverpool statement read.
Liverpool had previously expressed interest in Jota after reaching a deal with Thiago. It wasn’t long, Liverpool reached out to Jota and immediately struck a deal with Wolverhampton.

Meanwhile, before being declared official, Wolverhampton coach Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed Diogo Jota’s departure to Liverpool this summer. This statement was also accompanied by new Wolverhampton player, Liverpool’s Ki-Jana Hoever.
Nuno himself is delighted to welcome the 18-year-old from Anfied. However, he also congratulated Jota for preparing to face new challenges in his career with the 2019-2020 Premier League champions.
