Liverpool performed well on the baseline without Virgil van Dijk. The Reds seemed to say they could do well when the Dutch player left.

Van Dijk was injured when Liverpool were equaled 2-2 by Everton in the Premier League. During the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on October 17, Van Dijk was defeated by Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

As a result of the attack, Van Dijk suffered an injury to the anterior washal ligament (ACL) of his right leg. He also had to stop for about 8 months.

Without Van Dijk, Liverpool have appeared in 6 matches in all competitions. As a result, the Reds have never fallen with five wins and one draw.

Liverpool managed to score three clean sheets, all of them achieved while competing in the Champions League. Liverpool have conceded just three goals in such a winning streak.

Former Newcastle United player Alan Shearer praised Liverpool’s strong bottom line. Joel Matip cs showed a solid showing as Liverpool drew 1-1 at Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (11/8/2020).

The English League website notes that Liverpool’s defense can reduce City attacks. Pep Guardiola’s team can only shoot at goal 2 times.

“Liverpool have had their main problem adjusting to a season without Virgil van Dijk, but Joel Matip was able to get back on defense at Etihad Stadium and they look a bit more solid,” Shearer said in his column on the BBC.

“Their setback this season is clearly a 7-2 loss to Aston Villa, a result that has shocked everyone, but it should be noted that they did not lose any of the subsequent seven games,” he said.
