5. The last time Rossi started from the front row in Catalunya MotoGP was in 2009. At that time he started second and won the race.

6. With the composition of Morbidelli, Quartararo and Rossi, Yamaha blocks the front row for the second time in MotoGP 2020 after having done the same previously in MotoGP in San Marino.

7. Johann Zarco started in sixth position. This is Zarco’s best starting position since he took pole in the Czech MotoGP.
