It should be noted that the demonstration against the Omnibus Law of the Employment Creation Law today was carried out by the Brotherhood of Alumni 212, FPI and several other mass organizations. These mass organizations are members of the National Anti-Communist Alliance (ANAK) NKRI.

Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Nana Sudjana said that the police would carry out an interception where activities to transmit aspirations could not be carried out in front of the Presidential Palace. This was done as a reflection of the action against the Ciptaker bus law that ended in chaos last Thursday (8/10).

For information, demonstrations against the general Ciptaker law have been taking place in various regions of Indonesia since the law was passed at the DPR plenary meeting on Monday afternoon (5/10).

From October 5-7, 2020, the National Police managed to block protesters from holding demonstrations in the Indonesian capital city. However, on Thursday (8/10), the crowd was unstoppable and tried to approach the Presidential Palace, at least in two directions, namely from the Simpang Harmoni and Thamrin areas.

Thursday’s action was chaotic and resulted in clashes between the masses and the police. The President of the Republic of Indonesia himself, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), was not in Jakarta that day because he was on a working visit to inspect food farms in Central Kalimantan. Meanwhile, the DPR itself is on a recess until November 8, however, the police guard over the parliament complex area did not relax, but tightened that day.

Action against the omnibus law of the Ciptaker Law itself continues every day in various regions of Indonesia, including a mass of workers who again tried to approach the Presidential Palace on Monday (10/12).
