JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government through the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) will immediately transfer the second batch of BLT wage subsidies in the first week of November 2020 into the Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) program.

“The distribution of the second term (BLT BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) will take place during the first week of November 2020,” said Labor Minister Ida Fauziyah, quoted on BNPB Indonesia’s Youtube account on Tuesday (03/11/2020 ).

This means that with the target of distribution in the first week of November, the BPJS Employment wage subsidy will begin to transfer in stages no later than Saturday, November 7, 2020.

This year, the government has scheduled the distribution of Rs 600,000 for subsidized wages or BPJS assistance to workers with monthly wages below Rs 5 million in 2 stages of disbursement.

Each worker receives a BLT subsidized salary of Rs 600,000 per month for 4 months or a total of Rs 2.4 million. However, the BLT was disbursed once every 2 months, so in one disbursement, workers received Rs 1.2 million in assistance.

The budget allocated to the beneficiaries of wage subsidy aid is 15.72 million workers with a total budget of 37.74 trillion rupees. The validation and verification processes are carried out both at the Ministry of Manpower and at BP Jamsostek.

This BLT BPJS Ketenagakerjaan was provided to increase the purchasing power of workers. Meanwhile, assistance to layoff victims is provided through the Pre-employment Card program.

“This does not mean that the government is silent, because until now the government continues to give subsidies to workers in the form of salaries or subsidized wages. So this is one of our ways of maintaining the purchasing power of our workers,” explained Ida .

“I witnessed coworkers who received subsidized wages or salaries, they felt the presence of the state in a condition where their wages had been reduced,” Ida said again.

Previously, Ida could not confirm that the government’s wage subsidy assistance would continue until 2021. Although previously, it had previously stated that the government had prepared a social cushion in an effort to increase the purchasing power of consumption of workers or day laborers.

Ida said that currently the government is still calculating the capacity of the State Treasury to be able or not to continue with the help of the wage subsidy.

“Yesterday we met with the Coordinating Minister of Economy and we will calculate his capacity to continue subsidizing in 2021,” said Ida.

In addition, Ida said, in addition to calculating state finances, the government is also looking at the national economy next year.

The BLT wage subsidy aid was disbursed through state banks that are members of Himbara. For beneficiaries with private bank accounts, BLT BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (BPJS assistance) will be channeled to workers’ accounts of 4 state-owned banks.

“According to the technical guidelines of the Ministry of Manpower, it has a maximum time of 4 days Check list.
