Lidya Pratiwi finally spoke out following the news that she was released from prison for the murder of model Naek Gonggom Hutagalung.
Through exclusive interviews with the team Embed live, Lidya explained about her name change to Maria Eleanor that coincided with Christmas Eve 2013, until it was rumored that she had changed her religion for this.
“As for the name change, it was legalized around December 23 or 24, which is around Christmas because when it was called, it was on that date,” he said when meeting at Kebayoran Lama, in central Jakarta.
“So there is no special meaning or significance. It just happened that it was close to Christmas,” he said.
Furthermore, this woman who was born in 1987 also revealed the meaning of her new name, Maria Eleanor, which she said was hoping to be a tough woman.
“If that means, Maria means a strong woman and Eleanor is brilliant. I hope she can become a tough woman,” he said.
However, he was reluctant to discuss in depth when asked about the name change in relation to the issue of the religious conversion he was undertaking.
This is related to Lidya’s statement when she entered prison, who admitted that she had embraced Islam.
“Nothing leads to a religion,” he continued.
Although he has changed his name, he admits that there are still some people who shout his old name.
“It’s okay if someone still says the old name out loud, but slowly let me know when the name has changed,” he said.
It is known that Lidya Pratiwi changed her name to Maria Eleanor in 2013. The request for a name change was registered in the West Jakarta District Court.
Lidya Pratiwi’s name became public when she was involved in the murder case of Naek Gonggom Hutagalung, her lover in Tongkol room 59 Putri Duyung Cottage, Ancol.
The 33-year-old woman was invited by her uncle and her mother to trap her own lover in order to drain her wealth from getting into debt.
