The enmity between Neymar and Álvaro González is heading for a new chapter. The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has stepped in to investigate allegations of racist abuse.

Neymar was one of the players who was awarded a red card in the Ligeu 1 Paris Saint Germain vs Marseille match, on Monday (9/14/2020) WIB at dawn. The PSG star was caught by the VAR hitting Álvaro on the head.

After the game, through his personal Twitter account, Neymar accused Álvaro of calling him “monkey.” That was what caused Neymar to hit Álvaro on the head when a crowd followed Darío Benedetto’s foul on Leandro Paredes.

According to France 24, Neymar could face additional penalties. LFP will announce it on Wednesday (9/16/2020) local time.

The LFP’s disciplinary commission will also investigate Neymar’s accusations against Álvaro. There is also an investigation that includes allegations that Ángel Di María spat on Álvaro.

Any racial abuse is subject to a maximum suspension of 10 games. Spitting on another player can result in a ban for up to six matches.

Meanwhile, Layvin Kurzawa could be suspended for up to seven games. This was because Kurzawa was suspected of committing acts of violence while directing Jordan Amavi.

Álvaro has denied Neymar’s accusations through personal Twitter. He stressed that he had never committed racist harassment. Neymar is even called as if he did not accept defeat.

The former Barcelona player then responded to Álvaro’s rise on Twitter. Neymar accuses Álvaro of not being able to admit mistakes.

“You are not one to accept mistakes, losing is part of the sport. But insulting and bringing racism back to life is not allowed, I do not agree. I will not respect you! You have no personality! Be a man! Racist” Neymar wrote.
