Robert Lewandowski has been named FIFA Player of the Year. He beat Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Lewandowski was the main actor in Bayern Munich’s success by winning the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League titles last season, where he contributed 55 goals and 10 assists in 47 games.
His goal-scoring sharpness continues this season, where he has contributed 18 goals and 5 assists in 17 games thus far. Bayern’s trophy collection has also increased by two more, namely the German Super Cup and the European Super Cup.
This result successfully won him a lot of support from coach representatives, player representatives and journalists. After being averaged, Lewandowski scored a final score of 52, ahead of Ronaldo (38) and Messi (35).
“Winning this award, which was also won by Messi and Ronaldo, is really incredible and very meaningful to me,” Lewandowski was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

Son Heung-min also took the title at this year’s awards. The Tottenham Hotspur striker of South Korea won the Puskas Award (best goal) thanks to a goal scored against Burnley in the Premier League on December 7, 2019.

In the female category, Lucy Bronze (Manchester City) was the best player. Sarah Bouhaddi (Lyon) won the title of best goalkeeper, and the best coach belongs to Sarina Wiegman (Dutch team).
