Legitimate teachers, non-PNS educational personnel receive Rs 1.8 million government assistance

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Nadiem Makarin today, Tuesday (11/17/2020) today launched a salary subsidy assistance program (BSU) of Rp. 1.8 million for about 2 million education workers.

Nobodym said the assistance would be provided to around 2 million educational staff, including PAUD teachers, professors, educators, library staff, laboratories and honorary non-public administration aliases. Assistance was provided once to each recipient.

“Lecturers, teachers, non-officials, head teachers, PAUD educators, library staff, laboratories and school administrators, as well as school operators are included in the BSU attendance,” said Nadiem when launching the program on the Kemendikbud Youtube.

Nobodym said the assistance was provided to 2,034,732 million people. Made up of 162,277 professors in PTN and PTS, 1,634,832 professors and educators in public and private educational units, and 237,623 library personnel, laboratory personnel, and administrative personnel.

“This includes the private sector, they are entitled to government assistance, including 237,000 library, laboratory and administrative staff,” said Nadiem.

Nobodym explained that wage subsidies are given to help paid workers who are experiencing pressure amid a pandemic situation. The reason is that teachers face various difficulties in the performance of their functions, both from the point of view of learning and financially.

The government has also allocated a budget of Rs 3.66 trillion for this BSU program.

“The government must be present so that our honorary staff and lecturers overcome this critical period with financial aid that can encourage them to continue educating our children, to continue innovating in the field of education,” he said.
