SELF, KOMPAS.com – The Youth Movement (GP) of the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) Ansor Pati, Central Java reported that Sugi Nur Rahardja or familiarly called Gus Nur to the Pati Police Headquarters because it was considered that he had insulted Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) on Tuesday (10/20/2020).

LBH Ansor Pati President Nailal Afif said the report was related to Nur Sugi’s statements on YouTube channel Refli Harun on October 18, 2020, that he considered insulting the NU, along with several of its figures. Your party found the video or content in the WhatsApp group.

“Nur Sugi’s words are scandalous and inappropriate. This is not the only time he speaks like this, so legal action is needed in various regions,” Afif said after making the report.

The LBH secretary, Ansor Pati Luqmanul Hakim, explained that the report presented to the Pati Police was related to the dissemination of information that provoked hate speech or hostility towards certain people and groups in society based on ethnicity, religion, race and intergroup (SARA).

This is in accordance with the provisions of Article 45A, paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2016 on Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions.

In the 29-minute video, Gus Nur said that the UN organization in the current regime is compared to a public bus.

For the record, earlier in 2019, Gus Nur was briefed by the coordinator of the UN Youth Cadre Advocates Forum, who was also Vice President of the East Java PWNU Tanfidziyah.

At the time, Gus Nur was known in the video of his lecture at Karomah Islamic Boarding School, Palu, Central Sulawesi on May 19, 2019, he was found to have insulted UN youth. At that time he called the younger generation of NU as sycophants.

Due to the development of the case, Gus Nur was subsequently sentenced to 18 months in prison in the Surabaya District Court and his appeal in the East Java High Court was rejected.

“Currently, an appeal is being processed. We hope that with the existence of a similar case today, the verdict in the legal process at the cassation level can be exacerbated,” Luqman said.

Meanwhile, Kasat Reskrim from the Pati Police, AKP Sudarno, confirmed that his party had received the report from LBH GP Ansor Pati.

“Yes, the report just came in this afternoon and we have received it,” Sudarno said.
