FLORES TIMUR, KOMPASTV – Floods and landslides struck Nele Lamadike Village, Lleboleng District, East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Sunday (4/4/2021) early this morning.
The landslide killed at least dozens of people who were buried.
Most of them were trapped in their homes when landslides occurred.

Agus Boli, deputy regent of Flores del Este, mobilized members of the BPBD of Flores del Este to evacuate the victims. However, he admitted that he couldn’t dig deeper into the ground because he didn’t have heavy equipment.
“According to a report from Nelelamawangi village chief Pius Sword Melai, dozens of residents died buried and could not be excavated because there was no heavy equipment,” Agus was quoted as saying by Kompas on Sunday (4/4).
So far, 10 people have been found dead, while hundreds of people have been reported missing.
