Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

President of the Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPI) Said Iqbal openly admitted to having been betrayed by the government in the discussion of the Omnibus Copyright Law.

“Even if we enter the writing team, we feel betrayed. Some articles that he said reverted to Law Number 13 of 2003 were not successfully included and were even left the same as the government draft,” Iqbal said in a statement. of press that took place virtually on Monday (12/10). ).

Feeling betrayed, Iqbal said, his party asked the executive government to carry out an executive review that invalidated the law by issuing a presidential regulation instead of a law (Perppu).

Iqbal said this step could be a ray of hope for workers who feel they have been betrayed by the deliberation of the Ciptaker Act.

“Until the job creation law has been enacted, we respectfully ask the president to use an executive review, then also the DPR leadership to use the right of legislative review. That can be done,” explained.

“If the executive reviews the form of Perppu, but we respect the consideration of the president of Perppu although we hope it will be done,” he continued.

Iqbal also asked the House of Representatives to use a legislative review to verify the law that was deemed detrimental to workers. This must be taken before the bill is passed and applies to all workers.

“Then the DPR, if it is the representative of the people, not only the representatives of the party, and much less the representatives of the government, will use the legislative review, which is to test the existing legislation,” he said.

In his statement, Iqbal clarified several things. First, he questioned the protection of contract employees who are threatened with the status of a lifetime contract. Second, the job loss guarantee fund.

Third, regarding severance pay for workers who are laid off from work. Finally, the clause to determine the Minimum Wage for City and Regency is considered irrelevant.

The plan is for the workers to go back to the streets and demonstrate. However, Iqbal has not explained with certainty and clarity when the action was launched.

“And the option to campaign and socialize for later when we accept the draft, he said, not anymore, he said. Then we match it with Law number 13, then we will socialize it ”, he concluded.

The KSPI statement is different from the attitude of the United Workers Union Forum BUMN. United FSP BUMN Secretary General Tri Sasono said the Ciptaker Omnibus Act does not harm workers

He said that the Trade Union Federation of Workers of State-Owned Enterprises of the United State, the Trade Union Association of Port Workers of Indonesia, the Trade Union Federation of Plantation Workers of Indonesia, the National Coalition of Trade Unions of Indonesia, the Trade Union Federation of Independent Workers have read and studied article by article the Ciptaker Law for labor groups related to the welfare of workers

“That the rules on the minimum wage for workers have not been abolished in the Employment Law (Ciptaker Law). The minimum wage has not been abolished, but the calculation continues to consider economic growth and inflation.

As for the rights of laid off workers, Tri said, to receive severance pay, the Ciptaker Act also regulates severance, that is, the certainty of severance and even laid off workers will receive additional benefits for job loss (JKP ).

“In addition, workers who are laid off will also get facilities to upgrade their skills or enhance their skills and will have access to new government jobs,” he said.

Tri calls on workers not to be easily provoked by CIPTaker Law issues related to labor issues that are not in accordance with the content of the Ciptaker Law, which has been ratified by the Indonesian Parliament.
