Eramuslim.com – The National Human Rights Commission wrote to the Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat, regarding the alleged violence committed by officers against residents in Pubabu Village, Besipae, South Central Timor Regency on Wednesday (14 / 10) yesterday.

Komnas HAM Commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara said the letter had been sent by her party yesterday asking the local government to stop inter-group violence in the region.

“We have sent our letter of protest to the governor of NTT and ask to stop and prevent violence between community groups,” Beka said when contacted by CNNIndonesia.com on Friday (10/15).

According to their observations, cases of violence have often occurred in the region. It was not the first time that he had sent a letter to the NTT provincial government. His party had made recommendations related to cases of violence in the region since last September 3.

However, Beka said that so far there has been no response or follow-up from the NTT Provincial Government.

“Since September 3, we have not received an adequate response from the NTT provincial government,” Beka said.

“We ask the NTT provincial government to follow up on Komnas’ recommendation on September 3.”
