Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) asked the police to recall the famous Muhammad Millendaru Prakasa Samudro aka Millen cyrus of male cells.
Komnas HAM Commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara said she had contacted the Police Public Relations Division regarding Millen’s transfer to the women’s cell.
“He has already communicated with the Legal Division of the Police Headquarters. He promised to send Komnas’ request to Police Chief Tj Priok so that those who participated would be detained in women’s cells,” Beka said via Twitter @Bekahapsara quoted CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (11/24).
Millen was previously named a suspect in a drug abuse case and is currently being held at the Tanjung Priok Port Police.
Kapolres Tanjung Priok Police Chief, AKBP Ahrie Sonta said Millen was held in a male holding cell in reference to the gender statement on Millen’s ID card.
Beka emphasized that Millen has the right not to be tortured and treated fairly or with the dignity that is inherent in everyone.
“Have a KTP or not, address, gender, religion, occupation according to KTP or different from what is written,” he tweeted.
Beka also requested that legal advisors ensure that Millen is safe in custody.
“It can be coordinated with the head of detention and evidence from the Tanjung Priok port police,” he said.
In relation to this arrest, the Institute for the Reform of Criminal Justice (ICJR) also criticized her. Because according to ICJR researcher Maidina Rahmawati, Millen should have been detained in a women’s cell for expressing himself as a female gender.
“Keeping M (Millen) in a masculine place clearly represents a security risk for M, the risk of stigma, harassment of violence, the inevitable potential for human rights violations,” he said in a written statement received. CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (11/23).
Millen’s arrest adds to the long list of celebrities who have been caught in drug cases in 2020.
According to CNNIndonesia.com records, several names that have become entangled include, Vitalia Sesha, Lucinta Luna, Nanie Darham, Aulia Farhan, Medina Zein, Ririn Ekawati, Dwi Sasono, Vanessa Angel, Reza Alatas, Tio Pakusadewo, Naufal Samudra, Roy Kiyoshi, Ridho Divine, Catherine Wilson, Reza Artamevia, Syaima Salsabila.
