The port of Patimban itself can reduce distribution travel time from industrial estates to ports. This will have a positive impact on reducing logistics costs.

Currently, the travel time from the West Java industrial zone to the port of Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, can reach four to five hours. Traffic congestion towards Tanjung Priok port affects this travel time.

The Port of Patimban is one of the national strategic projects with an investment of 43.2 billion IDR in an area of ​​369 hectares and a reserve area of ​​356 hectares.

The construction of phase I drains a budget of 14 trillion rupees from the state budget and loans from the Japan International Cooperation Agency or JICA.

In phase I, the port will physically have a building and capacity as large as the Tanjung Priok port.

The physical objects that are planned to be ready for operation include a container terminal with a length of 150 meters, a container field of 35 hectares with a capacity of 250,000 20-foot containers and a terminal for 218,000 vehicles.

The port of Patimban is scheduled to be fully developed in 2027. Then, by 2027, the total accumulated capacity of the container terminal will be 7.5 million TEUs.
