Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Governor of Central Java Ganjar pranowo declared natural disaster flood in several villages in the Puring sub-district, Kebumen Regency, due to a river embankment that was deliberately made to irrigate farmers’ rice fields.
“Previously there was a finding that was transmitted by the Village Chief, why the embankment was broken because it was perforated from below (perforated). Why was it pierced? Because it needs water for agriculture, I pray that this does not happen again, ”said Ganjar while inspecting the broken embankment in Madurejo village, Puring district. , Kebumen Regency, Tuesday (3/11) quoted from Between.
Ganjar was shocked when he heard a report about this from the local village chief. Ganjar asked the village government to educate the residents to protect the embankments from natural disasters.
Regarding the cause of the neighbors who were desperate to make holes in the river embankment because they needed water to irrigate the fields, Ganjar asked for another solution.
“Earlier, the Village Head suggested a bomb, then the Regent of Kebumen would please help. If not possible, then we will also help, the Ministry of Agriculture, CSR can certainly help, but please pay attention to this because if it is maintained, everything can be safe, “he said.
Ganjar saw that the general management of the floods in Kebumen was good and that thousands of refugees had also returned to their homes. Meanwhile, the embankment that broke in Madurejo Village, which is 50 meters long and 6 meters wide, has also been handled by BBWS.
“Now it has been handled, BBWS has also repaired the broken embankment and I ask that it be accelerated because it is still rainy season,” he said.
On this occasion, all natural disaster relief in Central Java was still safe and ready to be distributed to disaster-affected areas.
