BOGOR, KOMPAS.com – The water level in Katulampa Weir, Bogor, West Java, has risen after heavy rains since Monday afternoon (9/21/2020).
It was recorded that, at 18.18 WIB, the water level in the dam, a relic of colonial times, was at 250 centimeters, or had a state of alert.
Katulampa Weir Guard Officer Achmad Aliyudin said the rising water level was caused by heavy rains that covered the Puncak area, Bogor.
Achmad appealed to the people who live on the banks of the Ciliwung River to be vigilant and cautious.

“People on the banks of Ciliwung remain vigilant. The water is expected to reach Jakarta in between 8 and 12 hours, or around 02:00 WIB,” said Achmad.
He added that currently the water level in the Katulampa Dam has dropped.
At 7:16 p.m. WIB, the water level was at 140 centimeters or had a three-alert status.
Still, he asked the public to remain vigilant to anticipate the possibility of flooding.
“The condition of the water now tends to decrease, hopefully it will not rise again and the conditions at the peak of rain have decreased,” he concluded.
