Juventus officially released Gonzalo Higuaín. That was after both parties agreed to terminate the contract early.

Juventus announced the termination of Higuaín’s contract through an official statement on the club’s website. This announcement only confirmed that the two of them had parted ways, as previous news had been quickly circulating.

Higuaín is no longer included in the plans of Juventus, which begins a new stage with Andrea Pirlo at the helm. Pirlo earlier this month revealed it directly to the French-born player, as he chased down Edin Dzeko (AS Roma) and Luis Suárez (Barcelona) as new attackers.

The decision was detrimental for Juventus. The termination of Higuaín’s contract caused them to experience a negative effect on the balance of 18.3 million euros, or around Rp 321 billion.

Higuaín himself is currently in the United States, where he is expected to continue his career. The 32-year-old forward immediately became an Inter Miami player in Major League Soccer (MLS).

Higuaín’s performance at Juventus has continued to decline since the first season he arrived. The 32-year-old forward even had to be loaned out to AC Milan and Chelsea in the 2018/2019 season.

Higuaín then returned to Juventus in the 2019/2020 season. Of the 43 games that elapsed that season, Higuaín only scored 11 goals.
