TURIN – Juventus won a landslide 3-0 victory when they played their first match in the 2020-2021 Italian League stage hosting Sampdoria. At the same time, it became Andrea Pirlo’s first victory in an official match as a professional coach.
As is known, Pirlo was lined up to become Juve’s first team coach after club president Andrea Agnelli fired Maurizio Sarri at the end of the 2019-2020 season. At first, Pirlo was quite dubious on various parts because he had no training experience.
However, the former AC Milan player was able to show that he was worthy of being taken into account. Playing in a 3-5-2 formation, Pirlo made Juve appear dominant and controlled the game until three goals were scored.

According to Juve defender Leonardo Bonucci, Pirlo has a completely different approach, character and way of training with Sarri. According to him, Pirlo is more like Massimilano Allegri than Sarri.
“We saw some new ideas proposed by the coach and his staff, new ways of interpreting the game, a lot of enthusiasm both in possession and off the ball,” explained Bonucci, as quoted in the news. Soccer Italy, Monday (9/21/2020).
“There are different movements, as with Sarri we advanced more as a group in defense, while with Pirlo we went one on one, which gave us more freedom to be aggressive and win the ball more often,” he continued.
