Journalists must also be prosecuted to be fair

JAKARTA, KOMPAS TV – The president of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI), Ahmad Shabri Lubis, called on the police to act fairly in processing cases of crowds amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

Shabri called on the police not only to take action against the mass of Habib Rizieq Shihab supporters, for attending Habib Rizieq Shihab’s daughter’s wedding ceremony in Petamburan, Tanah Abang, central Jakarta on November 14.

Shabri called for all parties to meet to be discussed, including journalists who gathered to report.

“We are calling for justice here. The other crowds, including journalists who have gathered, must now also be prosecuted, to be fair,” Shabri said in Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/15/2020).

Shabri added that the police must not be impartial in enforcing the law. Because the law applies to all groups, without exception.

Therefore, Shabri called on all parties to continue to fight for justice at all costs.
