Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – The West Java provincial government hopes that the operation of the first phase of the port of Patimban in West Java can become the embryo of the plan for the port city and industry of Patimban.
West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said his party was grateful for the extraordinary fate that would befall West Java with the operation of the port of Patimban in Subang, West Java.
“On behalf of the Provincial Government of West Java and the people of West Java, we thank you for this extraordinary destiny on our land in West Java,” he said in his remarks during the soft launch in the port of Patimban on Sunday (12/20/2020 ) with President Joko Widodo.
Ridwan said that Patimban would become the embryo of the Rebana metropolitan area, which consists of 13 new industrial cities. He added that Patimban will also be encouraged to become a maritime city with one million inhabitants.
The Rebana Triangle is a land destined to stimulate investment in the north and east of West Java. This area includes Subang, Cirebon, and Majalengka.
It is estimated that the development of this maritime industrial city will take the next 30 years for the city to be perfectly formed. This reflects the success of the Bekasi industrial area.
Ridwan predicts that if the Rebana metropolitan area is successful, 4.3 million jobs will be created in the next 15 years. This area is expected to contribute to economic growth of up to 4 percent for the West Java province.
