KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s Policy to Implement Large-Scale Social Restraints (PSBB), Volume II, has received attention from many groups, including the central government. This also indicates different views on the PSBB between the central government and the provincial government of DKI Jakarta.

Presidential Spokesperson Fadjroel Rachman referred to micro / community scale social restrictions (PSBMK) more effectively to suppress the spread of the corona virus (Covid-19).

This explains the above statement by President Joko Widodo. Jokowi conveyed in a meeting with the editor-in-chief of various media outlets that the implementation of PSBMK was more effective.

“He stressed that, based on empirical experience and expert opinion during the management of the Covid-19 pandemic, PSBMK is more effective in implementing the discipline of health protocols,” Fadjroel told reporters, the Friday (9/11).

Currently, the increase in positive Covid-19 cases in various areas is still happening. One of them is DKI Jakarta, which is currently in the transition period from large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).

The increase in daily cases in DKI Jakarta in recent days is in the range of 1000 cases per day. This increase prompted DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to apply the emergency brake to re-implement full PSBB.

Referring to the above PSBB rules, it means that all activities will be stopped again and only excluded for the 11 essential sectors. This step was considered correct by Anies to maintain the spread of Covid-19.

“At a meeting of the working group to accelerate the control of Covid-19 in Jakarta, it was concluded that we will apply the emergency brake, which means that we are forced to re-apply social restrictions on a large scale as in the first days of the pandemic, “Anies explained some time ago.

For information, according to data from the Covid-19 Management Working Group, on Friday (9/11) there were 210,940 positive cases. Based on that figure, Jakarta registered 51,635 positive cases.

Meanwhile, for the daily case addition, there were 3,737 additional cases across Indonesia. Of these, 964 cases came from Jakarta.
