Suara.com – The central leadership of Muhammadiyah meets with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday (10/21/2020). The meeting was held around 11.00 to 12.30 WIB.
PP Muhammadiyah General Secretary Abdul Mu’ti said the meeting was attended by PP Muhammadiyah President Haedar Nashir and PP Muhammadiyah Law and Human Rights Council President Sutrisno Raharjo.
Meanwhile, Jokowi was accompanied by Secretary of State Pratikno and the coordinating Minister of Economy, Airlangga Hartarto.
“This afternoon at 11.00-12.30 PP Muhammadiyah met with President Joko Widodo,” Mu’ti said in his statement on Wednesday (10/21/2020).

In a meeting with PP Muhammadiyah, Jokowi explained the strategic role in improving the economy in Indonesia.
Jokowi said that Mu’ti also emphasized the government’s attitude and views after many public criticisms of the Job Creation Law.
In addition, Mu’ti said that Jokowi would not issue a government regulation in place of the law (Perppu), but received input from various parties.
“The president emphasized his position that he would not issue a Perppu, but was open to receiving input from various parties, including the possibility of reviewing the problematic material of the Employment Creation Law,” he said.
Apart from that, the Head of State, he said, also recognized that there was less political communication and it was necessary to improve the application of the Copyright Law. So there is a wave of rejection in society related to the Copyright Law.

Regarding this, PP Muhammadiyah President Haedar Nashir appreciated Jokowi’s attitude and open dialogue with PP Muhammadiyah and various elements of society.
Regarding the Job Creation Law, PP Muhammadiyah submitted written notes and contributions which were sent directly to Jokowi.
Your goal is to create a calm situation and possible improvements to the bill.
“Muhammadiyah proposed that the president postpone the implementation of the Employment Creation Law in accordance with the applicable regulations. In Indonesia there are several laws that have been postponed for various reasons such as preparation, community refusal, etc.”, Mu’ti said.
Hearing Muhammadiyah’s request, he said that Jokowi would review the information.
“The president said he would study carefully,” he said.
