Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will decide for himself the evaluation of the end of the year holidays and will leave. Discussions on this joint license will take place early next week.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, together with relevant stakeholders, held a joint license evaluation meeting today.
“There are already several options,” Muhadjir said during a conversation with CNBC Indonesia on Friday (11/27/2020).
Muhadjir did not elaborate on the options that were presented at the ministerial-level meeting. However, the results of today’s meeting will be decided again in a cabinet meeting with President Jokowi.
“It will be decided later in a cabinet meeting. God willing, on Monday,” he said.
Previously, the joint year-end license was stipulated in Ministerial Decrees Number 440 of 2020, 03 of 2020 and 03 of 2020 on the Third Amendment to the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower and the Minister of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Number 728 of 2019, Number 213 Year 2019, Number 01 of 2019 relative to national holidays and joint holidays in 2020.
The regulation was signed by the Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi, Menaker Ida Fauziyah and MenPAN-RB Tjahjo Kumolo on May 20, 2020.
The government has also issued SKB 3 Ministers Number 642 of 2020, 4 of 2020 and 4 of 2020 in relation to national holidays and the joint license in 2021. The regulation was signed by the Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi, Menaker Ida Fauziyah and MenPAN-RB Tjahjo Kumolo on September 10, 2020.
According to the decree, the following is a list of long vacations at the end of 2020:
Thursday, December 24, 2020: Joint license for Christmas
Friday, December 25, 2020: Christmas Holidays
Monday, December 28, 2020: instead of license with Idul Fitri 1441 Hijriah
Tuesday, December 29, 2020: instead of license with Eid al-Fitr 1441 Hijriah
Wednesday, December 30, 2020: instead of license with Idul Fitri 1441 Hijriah
Thursday, December 31, 2020: instead of license with Eid al-Fitr 1441 Hijriah
Friday, January 1, 2021: New Years AD 2021
In total there are 2 national holidays and 5 days of collective holidays. When you add Saturday and Sunday, the total number of days off without a break is 11 days.
Jokowi himself asked his staff to review the decision to leave together at the end of 2020 in line with the peak of Covid-19 cases that in recent times was due to a long vacation.
