Jokowi asks these 12 districts / cities to become priorities for managing Covid-19

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo asked his staff to prioritize the management of Covid-19 in 12 districts / cities that have more than 1,000 active cases.

“I am also calling for 12 districts / cities with more than 1,000 active cases to be prioritized in the next two weeks,” Jokowi said in a press release from the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (12/10/2020).

Active cases are the number of Covid-19 patients who are currently still in treatment or in independent isolation.

The number of active cases is obtained from the total number of Covid-19 cases reduced by the number of patients who have recovered and died.

Jokowi specified 12 districts / cities that had more than 1,000 active cases. Five of them are in DKI Jakarta, namely North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta.

In the Capital Region, the Thousand Island District alone has fewer than 1,000 active cases.

Meanwhile, seven other regions that have active cases above 1000 are Ambon City, Bogor City, Depok City, Bekasi City, Jayapura City, Padang City, and Pekanbaru City.

“Active cases in 12 districts / cities contributed 30 percent of active cases nationwide,” said the Head of State.

As for the Covid-19 cases in Indonesia as of Sunday (11/10/2020), it is still growing.

According to government data, there were 4,497 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours from Saturday (10/10/2020) to Sunday.

The addition has resulted in a total of 333,449 Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, as of the time that President Joko Widodo announced the first case on March 2, 2020.

The number of patients recovering from Covid-19 in Indonesia now stands at 255,027 people. Meanwhile, the total number of patients who died reached 11,844 people.

Thus, the number of cases that are still active is 66,578 cases.
