President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin will hold an internal meeting to discuss the issue Cipta Kerja Omnibus Law, today is Friday (9/10).
Based on the official website of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, the meeting agenda would be held at 09.30 WIB. Ma’ruf himself is scheduled to attend via videoconference from the Vice President’s Official Residence, Jakarta.
“Internal meeting with the President of the Republic of Indonesia on the Employment Creation Law at 09.30 WIB”, read the agenda.
It is known that President Joko Widodo and Ma’ruf Amin have yet to comment on the ratification of the Employment Creation Law by DPR on Monday (5/10).
In fact, workers, students and other elements of civil society strongly oppose this rule. This is because regulation is seen to favor entrepreneurs more than people.
Simultaneously massive demonstrations took place in almost all major Indonesian cities, from Jakarta, Bandung, Medan, Pontianak, to Makassar from Wednesday (7/10) to Thursday (8/10). Clashes were inevitable in several places. Many of the participants in the action were detained by the police.
