Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Former Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) told the story of how the exploitation of Masela was determined during Rizal Ramli’s leadership as Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs in 2016.
According to JK, Rizal Ramli’s efforts to determine Masela’s mining activities to be carried out on land or on land it is a very damaging decision.
“Masela should be operating in 2024. Now it’s fine,” JK said.
At the cabinet meeting, Masela has been appointed offshore. However, he desperately argued that the activities at Masela should be carried out in a on land.
“Time offshore, at sea, it costs 14 billion dollars. Once calculated on the ground, because we have to install pipes, it will cost US $ 19 billion, “JK said.
He considered that this decision was ineffective because the cost and Indonesian involvement had to disappear. Not only that, the project has not worked so far.
“He enthusiastically gave his proposal to the cabinet meetings, we rejected several meetings, but for other reasons [akhirnya] to be accepted.”
JK emphasized that the state’s losses as a result of this reached IDR 75 billion.
JK also denied Rizal Ramli’s statement which revealed that he approached the former maritime minister in connection with business.
“Masela is a ship at sunset, what is it? sunset Boat? no problem with the boat. The ship is ready to drill. It was all rumored, “JK said.
“Do not forget that the loss for the country was US $ 5 billion and it did not work, although it should have been 2024. We need energy, it is 8 years. Now it will not be expensive.”
