The rainy season that occurs has flooded several areas in DKI Jakarta. Several points were flooded, such as central Jakarta to South Jakarta.

BMKG, on Sunday (July 2) yesterday, predicted the potential for moderate to heavy rain in the Jabodetabek area. And the floods were inevitable.

TPI Rubber Bivouac Flood 30 Cm

At the Karet Bivak Public Cemetery (TPU) in central Jakarta, the flooding reached 30 centimeters. Central Jakarta City Park and Forest Subdepartment Chief Mila Ananda said the puddle occurred in tomb blocks 15, 16 and 17.

As reported by Antara, Mila said that her group had deployed seven suction tanks and was assisted by officials from the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) to vacuum up the puddles. The water is then discharged into the river, which is placed just behind the TPU.

Mila also explained that the contours of the cemetery that were flooded – that is, blocks 15, 16 and 17 – were shaped like a basin, so it was prone to flooding. While the position of Bivouac Rubber TPU is below the surface of the water channel on the road.

“With this position, the Bivouac Rubber TPU floods easily because the grave is lower than the road,” he said.

At 1340 WIB, the water was still flooding several graves in the AA Islamic Units block. Some of the graves were even submerged by water, only the headstones were visible on the surface.

The flood in the land of the grave invited several children to play water. They are seen taking off their clothes and swimming among the submerged graves.

West Jakarta-West Jakarta was invaded

Yesterday there were also floods in North Jakarta and West Jakarta. West Jakarta Mayor Uus Kuswanto stated that the flooding had inundated two roads in Kebon Jeruk district, namely Jalan Patra and Jalan Panjang Green Garden, in the north of Kedoya.

“Duri Kepa fell back at 08.30, Green Garden around 12,” Uus said when contacted by detik.com on Sunday (7/2/2021).

Flooding had also occurred in residential areas along the Mookervart River and the Semowon River in Tegal Alur. The cause is due to rising sea levels.

“In the settlement due to tidal flooding. The Mookervart river is due to high tide, it rises. Keep waiting for low tide, if the afternoon recedes we will pump it. Because if we pump but the Mookevart river is high, the water gives round and round. Yes, we pumped after backing up, we pumped the basin. But for the whole area, wait for the seawater to recede, “he explained.

Meanwhile, in North Jakarta, a flood had occurred in Jalan Pedongkelan, Cilincing. However, by 12.00 WIB the water had receded so that residents could carry out their normal activities.

“So far, field observations have receded and residents are able to go about their normal activities. Alhamdulillah, despite extreme rains and the sea being tidal, the water could immediately recede and no residents were displaced according to data collected from through the sub-district and, “said North Jakarta Mayor Sigit. Wijatmoko.

Sigit explained that at least extreme weather conditions were reported in two areas of North Jakarta, namely the Gading Gading and Cilincing areas.

“In Kelapa Gading, I saw the rain gauge at 324mm per second. So the weather in Kelapa Gading and Cilincing is very extreme when you look at the sub-district offices and the urban village,” he explained.
