Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has again extended the Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) for the Transition Period to a Healthy, Safe and Productive Society for 14 days, from 23 November to 6 December 2020 as a precaution against an increase in COVID-19 cases.
The PSBB extension for the Transitional Period is based on DKI Jakarta Governor Decree Number 1100 of 2020 which emphasizes that if there is no significant increase in COVID-19 cases, the Transitional PSBB will automatically be extended for two weeks.
Anies said the provincial government of DKI Jakarta may implement an emergency braking policy if there is a significant increase in cases or an alarming level of transmission that endangers the services of the health system.
He said that based on epidemiological data during the PSBB implementation for the Transition Period in the past two weeks, the condition of the COVID-19 DKI Jakarta outbreak was still under control and heading safely.
However, we must be more attentive and more disciplined in health protocols. It should be noted that the daily report of positive cases in Jakarta reached a new record, that is, 1,579 cases on Saturday (11/21) yesterday. This condition should not make us even more ignorant and undisciplined. ”Anies said in his statement on Sunday (11/22).
He recalled that the transmission still occurred even though it was slowing down. In the future, we will further strengthen the application of health protocols. Anies hopes the public will be proactive in learning about violations. People also don’t need to worry about reporting if they feel exposed or have symptoms.
“This is a joint effort. We emphasize it again, it remains to be disciplined in health protocols. Covid-19 is still there,” he said.

The percentage of total confirmed cases shows a slight increase in the last two weeks. On November 21, confirmed positive cases in Jakarta reached 125,822, an increase of 11.62% compared to the previous two weeks of 111,201 cases (7/11). This figure of percentage increase increases slightly when the trend of changes is observed in cases that previously decreased every two weeks, namely:

– 85,617 (10/10) and 100,220 (24/10) or up to 14.57%
– 100,220 (24/10) and 111,201 (7/11) or an increase of 9.87%.
“From this data, it can be seen that the increase in the accumulation of confirmed positive cases in DKI Jakarta every two weeks began to show an increase of 11.62% from November 7 to 11. Whereas previously we witnessed a trend decrease in the increase in cases, that is, 18.03% on September 26. -October 10, 14.57% from October 10 to 24 and 9.87% from October 24 to November 7, 2020, “he said.

“This means that the transmission is still occurring and we need to be more vigilant. “We have to remind you that COVID-19 is an infectious disease that is not only seen for its high cure rate, but also for its easy and massive transmission. If we are disciplined in the implementation of health protocols, the transmission rate is low. and, ultimately, it will not put a burden on the health system.
