Two cadres of the National Awakening Party (PKB) became ministers in remodeling Advanced Indonesian Cabinet. PKB claims that this is proof of President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) love and affection for PKB.
The two names are Yaqut’s religious minister, Cholil Quomas, and the commerce minister, Muhammad Lutfi. PKB DPP President Faisol Riza said PKB lobbied for two weeks.
“Yes, that’s the name of Pak Jokowi’s love and affection for PKB. Yes, not bad (lobbying), two weeks,” Faisol said at the D’Rooftalk event: “Reading Jokowi’s strategy for electing ministers” , Wednesday (12/23/2020).
Faisol also explained about Lutfi, who was called a PKB cadre. He said that at the beginning of the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin cabinet formation, PKB also nominated Lutfi and Agus Suparmanto to become Trade Ministers.
“We have already appointed Pak Lutfi and Pak Agus as Trade Ministers in the cabinet, but then Mr. Agus was elected as Trade Minister, in the reorganization we proposed Pak Lutfi again,” he explained.
In addition, Faisol responded to criticism of the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Quomas. He said that Yaqut was a painting by Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) who had a soft heart.
“Gus Tutut (Yaqut), although severe, has been raised by criticism that must be defended very harshly, but it is still NU. NU, however mild, is lenient. So I think it’s a question of how Gus Tutut got to view our national needs, including surveillance ukhuwah Islamiah, “he said.
According to Faisol, Yaqut in his speech emphasized that he would give priority to the unity of the people. He considered Yaqut the most suitable person to become a bridge for all religions.
“In the first speech he clearly said that ‘he was watching from the first ukhuwah Islamiah‘, that’s the basis, I wanted to say that we do not feel that the differences of perspective make it seem that we all have no points in common, and that, in my opinion, Gus Yaqut is the most suitable person to be a bridge for all the differences . -the difference today, ”he said.
