Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Secretary of the State Ministry (Kemensetneg) finally opened its voice regarding the case that chained Bambang Trihatmodjo, namely in the past state credits of the Consortium of Organizing Partners (KMP) of the Marine Games XIX of 1997.

The secretary of the Ministry of State Secretariat, Setya Utama, explained that for the implementation of the XIX Sea Games in 1997 to be a success, a private consortium got involved and appointed a private consortium chaired by Bambang Trihatmodjo, as the organizing partner of the XIX Sea Games of 1997.

“The consortium has the task of providing funds for the organization of the Sea Games XIX in 1997. In its implementation, the Consortium experienced a shortage of funds and the state granted loans that eventually became debt of the consortium with the state (accounts receivable from the state), “Setya said in an official statement on Saturday (9/19/2020).

Regarding the problem of these accounts receivable, the Secretary of the Ministry of State has made efforts to return the accounts receivable from the state to Bambang Triatmojo as President of KMP Sea Games XIX in 1997. Namely, through a series of meetings of coordination attended by representatives of the Secretariat of the Ministry of State, General Secretariat of the Ministry of LHK, DJKN of the Ministry of Finance, Presidential Secretariat and KMP Sea Games XIX 1997.

At the coordination meeting, it was agreed that the issue of accounts receivable settlement in question would be delegated to the Ministry of Finance, mainly related to the delivery of state accounts receivable management and technical implementation.

“Now the liquidation of the accounts receivable from the State is in process at the Ministry of Finance until the accounts receivable are declared liquidated in accordance with the provisions of the laws and regulations in force,” Setya concluded.

The steps taken by the Ministry of Finance in protecting the case of President Soeharto’s son were to prevent them from reaching abroad. The Director General of State Assets of the Ministry of Finance, Isa Rachmatawarta, explained the reason.

“The person in question did not fulfill his obligations,” Isa told CNBC Indonesia on Thursday (9/17/2020).

Unfortunately, Isa did not convey how many debt obligations Bambang had to meet with the state.

“In the context of the country’s accounts receivable management [jumlah utang] including the excluded information, “said Isa.

Bambang was not without a fight, he filed a lawsuit with the Central Jakarta State Administrative Court. In his complaint, Bambang Trihatmodjo asked PTUN to declare null the Decree of the Minister of Finance Number 108 / KM.6 / 2020 dated May 27, 2020 regarding the Stipulation of the Extension of the Prevention of Travel Outside the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia v. Bambang Trihatmodjo (Chairman of the Consortium of Organizing Partners of Sea Games XIX 1997) in the framework of the Management of State Accounts Receivable.

In addition, Bambang Trihatmodjo in his lawsuit asked PTUN to force the accused to revoke the Decree of the Minister of Finance Number 108 / KM.6 / 2020 dated May 27, 2020.

This lawsuit was filed by Bambang Trihatmodjo with his lawyer Prisma Wardhana Sasmita. Currently, the status of the case remains a preparatory examination.

In retrospect, the XIX SEA Games event was funded by the Presidential Assistance (Banpres). Under the leadership of President Soeharto at the time, it was decided that the government would make a loan of IDR 35 billion to the consortium that organized the XIX SEA Games that took place in 1997.

As head of the consortium, Bambang is in fact responsible for providing all facilities for SEA Games. If you can’t pay the debt, including interest and penalties, perhaps the total debt from the 1997 SEA Games has reached trillions of rupees.
