TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – The senior manager of the communication and legal affairs branch at Soekarno-Hatta airport, Febri Toga Simatupang, denied queuing at Soekarno-Hatta airport due to an increase in passengers.
The number of passengers at Soekarno-Hatta airport during the homecoming ban was much lower than the normal number of passengers at Soekarno-Hatta airport.
“We report that there is no increase in passengers,” Febri said when Kompas.com was contacted by phone on Thursday (05/14/2020).

Febri said the number of passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport that arrived and left on Wednesday (05/13/2020) yesterday was only 4,000 people.
While today, the movement of passengers to and from the largest airport in Indonesia is registered at 5,700 people.
“While Soekarno-Hatta normally 150,000 passengers per day, now only 5,700,” said Febri.
Febri said the main cause of the queuing buildup was the process of verifying travel documents as a condition of the journey of potential passengers during the homecoming ban.
However, Febri said, the accumulation of queues did not last long.
In less than 30 minutes, he continued, the employee had rearranged the queue to make physical distancing.
The process involved a large number of documents, Febri said, causing potential passengers who would carry out the validation to accumulate.
The three documents that each passenger must validate in the form of a plane ticket, a free Covid-19 certificate and a letter of assignment or certificate from the office and related agencies.
“And it was validated by the team at the Covid-19 air force unit at Soekarno-Hatta airport. The review of the validation process was carried out carefully,” he said.
