It can turn into conflict, even chaos

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said the DKI Jakarta provincial government did not disperse the crowd because FPI leader Rizieq Shihab and his supporters were avoiding conflict.

The reason is that there were thousands of people gathered in Petamburan when Princess Rizieq’s wedding took place.

If the DKI provincial government is determined to disperse all the FPI supporters, there is the possibility of a conflict that will lead to chaos.

“It could be a conflict, it even happened chaos, that’s not good either. So what is the situation like that, mitigation and prevention? ”Riza said at the Mata Najwa Trans7 event, Wednesday (11/18/2020).

Another reason the Rizieq Shihab event was not disbanded was that a forced dispersal could result in physical contact between the officers and the thousands of people who had gathered in Petamburan.

“There will be physical contact, so the spread of the corona virus is possible,” Riza said.

According to Riza, the provincial government of DKI Jakarta also has no authority to dismiss an event. This is not regulated in the regional laws and regulations in DKI Jakarta.

Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government only urges the masses to keep their distance while distributing masks to minimize the transmission of Covid-19.

“So there is nothing in Pergub that we can dissolve, what we are doing is issuing an appeal like a letter, then closing the seal,” Riza said.

As is well known, the crowd involving the leader of the FPI mass organizations, Rizieq Shihab, and his supporters last week did not happen just once.

As soon as Rizieq arrived from Saudi Arabia at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, on Tuesday last week, mobs broke out. The crowd that day continued at Jalan KS Tubun around Petamburan, around Rizieq’s residence.

The crowds reoccurred when FPI held a birthday activity for Prophet Muhammad SAW in Tebet, South Jakarta, last Friday.

Finally, on Saturday night, when Rizieq Shihab held a wedding ceremony for his daughter, he invited a large crowd of people in Petamburan. At that time, I married his daughter, Sharifa Najwa Shihab, and also performed a memorial for the Prophet’s birthday.
