The course of the match

MU seemed to press first. Bruno Fernandes has a chance in the 6th minute, but his shot goes wide to the left of the home goal.

Four minutes later, MU presented the threat again. Luke Shaw successfully caught Donny van de Beek’s bait in the Basaksehir penalty area, but his shot went off the right side of the goal.

Basaksehir responded immediately. Edin Visca, who was standing in front of MU’s penalty area, fired a long-distance shot in the 11th minute, but it still bounced off Dean Henderson’s goal.

OBJECTIVE! Basaksehir took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. Visca counterattacked by sending a long pass to free Demba Ba. The former Chelsea striker ran to the middle of the field before finishing it off with a low shot that fooled Henderson.

In the 20th minute, Ba gets another rear bait and is free to go to the front. Not wanting to happen again as the first goal, Axel Tuanzebe violated it from behind. Even so, he was only sentenced to a yellow card. Danijel Aleksic’s free kick also hit the MU gang.

Anthony Martial almost leveled in the 30th minute. Receiving a cross from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the French forward thought he was free and fired a strong shot into the penalty area. However, former MU player Rafael managed to block his shot.

Almost! Basaksehir threatened MU’s goal again. A cross from the left by Boli Bolingoli in the 32nd minute was able to be headed by Aleksic towards the goal, but the ball was secured by Henderson.

OBJECTIVE MORE! Basaksehir doubled the lead in the 40th minute. Deniz Turuc managed to snatch the ball from Juan Mata and then counterattack.

Turuc threw a horizontal cross to Ba from the left side, but deftly Ba let the bait keep running towards Visca, who was left free on the right, and finished with a successful strong shot that hit Henderson’s goal.

MU responded immediately! Three minutes after conceding, Luke Shaw sent a cross from the left, which Martial edged past Basaksehir goalkeeper Mert Gunok. The score becomes 1-2 and lasts until the break.

In the second half, MU again took the initiative to attack. In the 54th minute, MU landed a free kick after Bruno Fernandes was raped by Rafael and executed by the Portuguese midfielder himself, but Gunok was still able to ignore him.

In the 60th minute, Fernandes had another chance, but this time his shot drifted slightly to the left of the goal.

MU then came Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood. The presence of all three is expected to further increase the throbbing power of MU’s first line.

However, during the last half hour of action, there were almost no dangerous opportunities created by the Red Devils. Meanwhile, Basaksehir, who was already superior, chose to play it safe and stay behind.

Until the long whistle sounded, the score remained 2-1 to the advantage of Istanbul Basaksehir.
