Jakarta –
Paul Pogba rejected reports of his retirement from the national team in response to comments from French President Emmanuel Macron. He called the news hoax or hoax.
Some British media have reported that Pogba intends to withdraw from the French national team due to Macron’s comments that have cornered Islam. The incident of the beheading of a teacher in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, France, on October 16, was the trigger.
Macron called the killings an “Islamist terrorist attack.” He said the teacher was killed for “teaching freedom of expression.”
It is also said that the French government award to the late Samuel Paty caused Pogba to resign from the Les Bleus team.
Pogba responded to the news that initially emerged from the Middle Eastern media. Through the account @paulpogba, the 27-year-old player provides a clarification.
