TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – IKEA Indonesia Public Relations Manager Ririn Basuki confirmed that IKEA Alam Sutera, Tangerang city, will be temporarily closed due to the avalanche of visitors.
“That’s right (it will be closed temporarily),” he said when contacted. Kompas.com, Sunday night (10/5/2020).
Ririn said the shutdown came after large numbers of visitors from IKEA and the Tangerang city government scolded.

Ririn said that the IKEA held a meeting as soon as possible with the Tangerang city government to carry out an evaluation related to the operation of the furniture company in the period of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in the city of Tangerang.
“We will hold a meeting with the Tangerang city government to conduct an assessment,” he said.
Ririn said, IKEA gives health priority to visitors and claims to comply with PSBB regulations in Tangerang city.
Ririn also couldn’t be sure how long Sweden’s retail furniture could reopen after being visited at the APSBB more.

“We will hold a meeting with the Tangerang city government and inform you as soon as possible (regarding the reopening),” he said.
Tangerang Mayor Arief Wismansyah claimed, after the video piled viral visitors on social media, IKEA immediately shut down its activities in retail.
Still, Arief said, IKEA immediately stopped operations when Tangerang City Satpol PP arrived at its location in Alam Sutera.
“It is closed,” he said dryly.
Arief said IKEA continues to open operations because it uses a Hypermart operating permit that is part of the business to meet basic needs.
“The operating permit is Hypermart,” he said.
