TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – The National Police Headquarters finally detained two-star Police Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte at the Bareskrim Polri Detention Center, Jakarta, on Wednesday (10/14/2020).

Inspector General of Police Napoleon was arrested with a businessman named Tommy Sumardi. Both have suspected corruption status for the removal of the red notice on behalf of Djoko Tjandra.

The decision on the arrest of the two was announced by Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations, Brigadier General Awi Setyono.

According to Awi, the two were detained after undergoing a series of Covid-19 health checks.

“Suspect NB immediately carried out a swab and then carried out a forced attempt in the form of arrest. Then brother TS at 12.00 WIB did the same. He immediately came to do a swab and then was arrested,” Awi said at the National Police Criminal Investigation Building, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (10/14/2020).

Awi announced the arrest of Inspector General Napoleon and Tommy Sumardi after the second file of the suspects was transferred to the second phase of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office. Later, both will be tried soon.

“All four suspects have been declared P-21 complete or complete, so the next stage is the transfer of responsibility of the suspect and the unconfirmed evidence when the second stage will be delivered,” he said.

The General’s Record

Despite the two-star general status, not much is known about Inspector General Napoleon’s performance.

The chairman of the IPW Presidium, Neta S Pane, said Napoleon’s career was registered in the police force.
