jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Two suspects in the murder case accompanied by the mutilation of a man whose body was found in a suitcase at apartments in the city of Kalibata face the death penalty.
The victim, known as Rinaldi Harley Wismanu (33), was killed and mutilated by a couple with the initials DAF (26) and LAS (27).
“The application of article 340 of the Penal Code is punishable by death or life or article 338 of the Penal Code and article 365 of the Penal Code,” said Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector Nana Sudjana at a conference press release at Mako Polda Metro Jaya, Thursday (9/17).
The motive of the two suspects for killing the victim was financial. The two conspired to kill Rinaldi to control his property.
To initiate the action, LAS asked the victim to rent an apartment in central Jakarta. In that apartment, DAF and LAS killed and mutilated the victim.
The victim’s body was then stored in the Kalibata city apartment. The plan was for the two suspects to bury the body of the victim in a house they rented, but both were detained before taking the action.
Nana said that this case was revealed based on a police report on a missing person reported to Polda Metro Jaya.
“This case was revealed from the police report of a missing person, after the family was unable to communicate with the victim,” he said.
