Data from the Ministry of Health as of December 20, 2020 at 12.00 WIB show that the increase in the number of deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours is 221 people.

Thus, the total number of people who died from Covid-19 in Indonesia currently stands at 19,880 people.

Previously, the record for the highest number of additional deaths occurred on December 11, 2020. According to data from the Ministry of Health on December 11, at that time 175 deaths were reported.

The number of infections was 664,930 cases.

Meanwhile, the positive cases of Covid-19 as of December 20, 2020 at 12.00 WIB, increased by 6,982 to a total of 664,930 cases.

The first case of death from Covid-19 in Indonesia was registered on March 13 with 3 deaths.

The number continues to grow, until on April 14, more than 50 deaths were reported, that is, 60 deaths a day.

He then broke the record again on July 19 with 127 deaths. Then the score broke the record again. This time more than 150, 160 dead to be precise on September 22.

The next record is 175 deaths on December 11 and 221 deaths on December 20.

Mainly in Central Java

The area with the highest number of deaths is in Central Java, with 73 people. East Java followed with 60 people.

In third position, DKI Jakarta with 19 people, followed by East Kalimantan with 10 cases. Apart from these four areas, the sum of deaths is below 10.

Airlangga University (Unair) Windhu Purnomo epidemiologist said that according to his prediction, the reported figures had not shown the actual figure.

According to the epidemiologists’ model, actual cases could be 5 to 6 times more than reported.
