JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Meeting with President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (10/5/2020), KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea admitted that he had disclosed articles in the Job Creation Bill that were considered harmful to workers.
However, the DPR RI statement apparently still confirms that the bill becomes law.
“Yesterday’s meeting turned out to be at the end of the plenary session,” Andi told Kompas.com on Tuesday (6/10/2020).
“But what is important is that we convey which items we believe are harmful and which items will surely haunt Indonesian workers,” he continued.

The articles Andi released included, among other things, the reduction of severance pay for workers, then related to foreign workers, and overcoming.
Andi did not elaborate on how President Jokowi responded to the problematic articles he transmitted.
Although it has failed to thwart the ratification of the Job Creation Act by meeting with President Jokowi, KSPSI will go another way to cancel the Job Creation Act.
The method to be followed is through a judicial review in the Constitutional Court (MK).

“KSPSI as the largest labor confederation will take constitutional measures, that is, a judicial review to the Constitutional Court,” he said.
KSPSI, Andi continued, has also formed a legal team to request a judicial review.
Several renowned advocates are said to have been willing to assist KSPSI in filing a lawsuit request with the Constitutional Court.

However, he was reluctant to reveal who the advocates would be to assist the workers in the judicial review process in the Constitutional Court later on.
“There are no names yet, but there are many lawyers who want to fight with the workers in the Constitutional Court,” he said.
Previously reported, the ratification of the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Bill (RUU) by the DPR on Monday (10/5/2020) met with resistance from the union until the last minute.
An hour before the bill was enacted, two trade union leaders, namely the President of the Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPI), Said Iqbal, and the President of KSPSI, Andi Gani Nena Wea, met with the President Joko Widodo.

Since then, both have firmly opposed the discussion and ratification of the Bill for the Creation of Works.
Based on the information gathered, the six-eye meeting lasted about an hour.
Shortly after the meeting, DPR began a plenary session in which one of the items on the agenda was to enact the Employment Creation Bill.
