JAKARTA, KOMPAS TV – Former TNI commander Gatot Nurmantyo called on authorities not to be selective in taking action against perpetrators of health protocol violations that caused crowds amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Presidium of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (US), If this country were truly fair, all activities that caused crowds should be dealt with firmly and indiscriminately.

Gatot Nurmantyo stated that in response to the crowd attended by Grand Imam of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) Rizieq Shihab.

This is because the crowd Rizieq Shihab attended had a long queue. Rizieq Shihab, her son and son-in-law were summoned by the police to be examined for violations of health protocols.

“What happened recently was about the examination of Habib Rizieq Shihab. If indeed this country is fair, then all groups of people, all will be examined,” said Gatot during the National Dialogue of 100 Ulama and Figures broadcast through the channel of Front TV’s YouTube, Wednesday (02/12/2020).

Aside from the issue of the Rizieq Shihab investigation, Gatot Nurmantyo also addressed the police officers’ treatment of various American activists, including Syahganda Nainggolan, Jumhur Hidayat and Anton Permana.
