I miss old football

Drama Video assistant referee (VAR) honors Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton & Hove Albion. In response to this, José Mourinho missed old football.

Tottenham were able to beat their guest, Brighton, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Premier League Week 7, on Monday (11/2/2020) at the morning WIB. The Lilywhites’ victory was colored by the drama Var.

The first controversy over VAR arose when referee Graham Scott awarded Tottenham a penalty in the 13th minute. This penalty could be taken by Harry Kane to become Tottenham’s starter.

Scott pointed out the location after checking VAR due to Kane being run over by Adam Lallana. This decision is debatable because Kane’s body when he fell was outside the penalty area.

After the match, the Premier League Elite Referee Corps (PGMOL) gave an explanation about the incident. Quoted from Dailystar, PGMOL confirmed that it was a penalty because Kane’s foot was on the edge of the penalty area.

Kane’s penalty is not the only controversy in this game. The next VAR drama came when Brighton drew through Tariq Lamptey in the 56th minute.

Before this goal, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg appeared to be tackled by Solly March. Scott still backed this goal despite watching the VAR.

Unlike the Kane incident, for the Lamptey goal controversy there were no further explanations from PGMOL. Fortunately, Tottenham did not have to lose all the points because of this as Gareth Bale scored the winning goal in the 73rd minute.

For the umpteenth time, Tottenham coach José Mourinho once again felt that his team was at a disadvantage against VAR. The Special seems to have run out of words to comment on this.

He admitted that he missed soccer in the past without VAR. Even so, he emphasized that he still supports the use of goal-line technology.

“I have to try not to discuss this. I don’t know what to say at the moment. My opinion is that I miss the football that I lived in the past. But with the goal line technology because obviously it helps in the match,” Mourinho said. BBC.

What about Detikers, here? Agree with Mourinho or feel that football is much better with VAR. Give your opinion in the comment column.
