Hellas Verona vs Inter Milan: The Nerazzurri won with difficulty

Inter Milan have struggled to add the three points at home to Hellas Verona. The Nerazzurri won 2-1 with 90 minutes of action finished.

On matchday 14 of the matchday played at the Marc Antonio Bentegodi stadium, on Thursday (12/24/2020) in the morning of the WIB, Inter and Verona drew goalless in the first half.

Inter started the game with less fluidity, because there was a lot of pressure from Verona. Inter’s only chance came in the 10th minute when Ashley Young fired a strong shot that went wide.

After 20 minutes into the game, Inter tried to push Verona back and failed to score on several occasions. In the 36th minute, when Ivan Perisic put the ball into the RomeLu Lukaku.

Lukaku then handed it to Martínez, who finished off with a powerful shot and forced Verona goalkeeper Marco Silvestri to make an acrobatic save.

Until the break, the score lasted 0-0. Going into the second half, Inter tried to increase the intensity of the game. Six minutes later, Inter finally got ahead thanks to Lautaro Martínez.

Achraf Hakimi attacked from the right to send a cross, which Martinez continued with a volley to the net.

Martinez came close to scoring his second in the 62nd minute when he threw the ball back into the box, but Silvestri was quick to ignore it.

Inter’s goal fell apart in the 63rd minute when Samir Handanovic made a mistake by catching a cross. The ball came out of its catch and made it easy for Ilic to score a goal.

However, the 1-1 scoreline lasted just six minutes when Milan Skriniar headed a Marcelo Brozovic corner into goal. Towards the end of ten minutes, Lukaku had two golden opportunities to score goals.

As usual, Lukaku really blew it, because his curved shot in the 90th minute went wide as well as the next minute. Inter continued to win with a score of 2-1.
