Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Malaysian Police Authority confirmed that the lead author perpetrating the abuse of the Indonesian Raya song was an Indonesian citizen.

Malaysian Police Inspector General Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said the information was obtained after conducting an examination of a worker.
from Indonesia, who is also one of the suspects in this case. The questioning of the suspect took place in Sabah.

“The suspect was arrested in Sabah on Monday and the Malaysian Government Police (PDRM) have obtained new leads in our investigation,” said Abdul Hamid, reported from Bernama’s news office on Thursday (12/31/2020).

“Yes, PDRM received a new indication that the perpetrator came from there (Indonesia), and our suspect is being investigated further to determine who edited the video,” he continued.

He revealed that this information had been passed on to his colleagues in Indonesia and the disbursement of the main suspect in this harassment continued.

Malaysian police have also sent a team to Sabah to track down perpetrators of acts that degrade the country. He also said that acts that degrade any country are serious crimes.

“InsyaAllah, we will take the suspect (the main perpetrator) to court once he is arrested,” he said.

As previously reported, the abusive parody video was originally created by MY Asean’s account and uploaded to YouTube. The account holder is suspected of being a Malaysian citizen because he used a profile photo showing the flag of the neighboring country.

The video is titled ‘Indonesia Raya Instrumental (Parody + Lyrics Video)’. The video contains an image of a suspected Pancasila chicken on a red and white background along with an animation of two children seen urinating.

The video begins with the crowing of a rooster. The arrangement of the song is almost the same as that of the song ‘Indonesia Raya’.

However, the lyrics generally contain an insult to Indonesia. There were also those who offended President Jokowi and the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno.

“Ban ** atlah rakyatmu, hinalah negerimu”, sounds one of the lyrical fragments written in the video.
