Contacted separately, the Head of the Data and Information Center of the Bogor City Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Hadi Saputra, said that the hail phenomenon occurring in the city of rain is a phenomenon normal scientist.

“Hail occurs during the transition season, a transition from both dry to rainy and vice versa, the condition is that there must be cumulonimbus clouds that grow a lot in Pancaroba in the afternoon,” Hadi said by telephone. CNNIndonesia.com, Wednesday (23/9).

Hadi said the hail occurred due to condensation of water in the clouds. Then when it falls, it does not melt completely due to the low temperature above the cloud. You could say that condensation occurs suddenly, so ice of different sizes is formed.

Although the hail phenomenon was not that worrisome, Hadi still asked residents to be vigilant. According to him, the hail phenomenon comes accompanied by lightning and strong winds, which is also dangerous when many trees fall on the road.

“It is dangerous because surely if it rains there must be strong water and lightning, that must be it. Earlier in the area that was hit by hail along the falling trees,” he said.
